Dad always put me first (as most Dads do!) and a memory which brings this to life for me is him helping me get ready for university over the summer of 2005. He so wanted to help me get my room nice, knowing I suppose how important it is for the mind to feel comfortable and homely (he so loved having everything nice at home). I remember us going into town to buy cushions and fairy lights, and when we arrived in my halls he spent ages setting everything up so I could be comfortable and feel homely. Little things like that really epitomised dad - always happy to drive me or mum anywhere, collect us anytime, make sure we were safe and happy and things were nice for us.
