Good friends reunited

Dave and Laurie knew each other from when they were both apprentices attending Crawley college in 1967. Laurie working for APV in Crawley and Dave Lintott's in Horsham. They both had an interest in music (albeit different tastes) and would meet at the Starlight Ballroom Disco in Crawley.

They lost contact after college but a chance meeting put them back in touch and Laurie went down to visit him in Slinfold. We have since both spent many lovely evenings at their various beautiful houses in Slinfold, Ventnor and Chichester. Never a lack of conversation or good food.

Dave and Cherrill came to Laurie's 60th birthday in Rusper and despite not knowing anyone they chatted happily to all family members and their presence helped to make it a lovely day. They came to our 25th wedding anniversary in 2016 where they also met up with some other old friends.

We last saw them in September in Chichester when we went out for a meal at The Crate and Apple. Dave was in good spirits and was eating and drinking well - the only one to have all three courses. Back at the house Laurie and Dave had a long chat about music and you could see from their body language that both were really enjoying the time. Unlike Dave though Laurie is reluctant to let go of his treasured vinyl.

Lauries thoughts on Dave:

"Always master of class. Always the best choice of cars. Always the snappiest of dressers. Always the best in house furnishings. Always listened to the most sophisticated cool jazz. Always the most laid back of guys. Always was and always will be a great mate to have known over the last 50 years."

It was with much sadness we received Cherrill's email and we will miss Dave immensely but won't forget him and his disarming smile.
